The "Hai Duong in lychee season" event and the 2025 lychee trade promotion conference continue to facilitate lychee consumption at home and abroad.
The Hai Duong Department of Agriculture and Environment organized the "Hai Duong in lychee season" event in conjunction with the 2025 lychee trade promotion conference in Thanh Ha district on May 30.
Shortly after a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open lychee orchards in the morning, leaders of the province, departments, and sectors visited an orchard and joined farmers in harvesting the first export-grade lychees of the 2025 season.
The event aims to promote the distribution of Thanh Ha lychees across provinces and cities nationwide and to boost exports to key international markets like Japan, the US, Australia, and China.
Hai Duong provincial leaders pledged to create the most favorable conditions in terms of administrative procedures, security, traffic, parking, and related services for organizations and individuals coming to the province to purchase lychees and other agricultural products.
At Thanh Binh Square in Thanh Ha district, the leaders, along with representatives from Ameii Vietnam JSC., Hung Viet Agricultural Products JSC., and Fusa Organic Agriculture JSC., conducted the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the first shipments of lychees exported to Japan, Australia, and Europe.
As part of a series of events, the lychee trade promotion conference was held at the district People’s Committee hall and connected online with many Vietnamese commercial counselors and international businesses.
Tong Ba Luan, Head of the Vietnam Trade Office in San Francisco, the US, expressed strong support for promoting the export of Vietnamese agricultural products, especially Thanh Ha lychees.
Luan noted that the US market has strict requirements for plant quarantine and packaging standards. Although current lychee exports to the US remain modest, volumes have steadily increased year by year. He encouraged the provincial and local authorities to actively guide farmers in meeting international standards and to maintain close coordination with overseas trade offices.
At the end of the conference, representatives from Ameii Vietnam JSC., Hung Viet Agricultural Products JSC., and Fusa Organic Agriculture JSC. signed a commitment to support lychee consumption in partnership with cooperatives growing lychees in the district.
Hai Duong province currently has 8,800 ha of lychees, with a total projected harvest of around 60,000 tons. Thanh Ha district alone is expected to produce about 38,000 tons, with approximately 50% destined for export.
Lychee production in Hai Duong follows strict safety protocols. 12 cultivation zones have been certified with GlobalGAP, and 56 zones have received VietGAP certification, totaling 721 ha.
The province has been granted 198 growing area codes for lychee export, with 167 of them located in Thanh Ha. There are also 16 certified packing facilities for export, most of which are in Thanh Ha district.
