Thanh Ha’s u trung trang lychees ordered at up to 100,000 VND/kg

Several households in Thanh Ha district have started harvesting u trung trang lychees. Commune authorities have advised growers to wait until the fruit is fully ripe in order to ensure optimal quality. The main harvest for u trung trang lychees is expected to begin next week.

This lychee variety typically fetches high prices due to its limited supply and early harvest time each season. Many growers report that regular buyers have already placed orders at 100,000 VND/kg, about 40,000 VND/kg higher than the price of main-season thieu lychees.

U trung trang lychees are known for their fragrant aroma, thick pulp, large size, and juiciness. However, the yield is smaller compared to other varieties such as u hong, u gai, tau lai, and main-season thieu lychees.

Thanh Ha district has 3,285 ha of lychees, including approximately 1,900 ha of early-harvest ones, mainly cultivated in Ha Dong area.

Due to extended cold weather earlier this year, lychee harvests across the region are occurring around 10 days later than usual.

The total lychee output in Thanh Ha district is projected to reach about 35,000 tons this year. Local growers and agricultural cooperatives have proactively established linkages for lychee consumption. Several businesses have also already signed large-scale purchasing agreements for thieu lychees.
