Hai Duong province is forecast to experience persistent sunny to hot weather in the coming days.
The weather in Hai Duong province will be partly cloudy, with hot daytime conditions and southerly winds at level 2 from the night of June 1 to June 3, forecast the provincial Hydro-Meteorological Station.
Scattered sunshine is expected to occur later, with the highest temperatures reaching 38 degrees Celsius.
Around June 4 - 11, the weather in Hai Duong will range from partly cloudy to mostly cloudy and sunny. Daytime temperatures will fluctuate between 27 and 34 degrees Celsius. Scattered showers and thunderstorms may happen in the late afternoon and evening.
Between June 6 and 8, there may be light rain in some areas within the province. Thunderstorms may bring lightning, hail, whirlwinds, and gusty winds.
On June 1, Hai Duong experienced a widespread heatwave with temperatures peaking at 37 – 38 degrees Celsius, marking the hottest day of the year so far.
Experts warn that extreme heat may lead to fires and explosions due to increased electricity usage. From 10 am - 2 pm daily, residents, especially children and the elderly, are advised to stay indoors, wear light and breathable clothing, and drink plenty of water. Those working outdoors should limit prolonged exposure to high temperatures to reduce the risk of heatstroke.
