Hai Duong province is forecast to experience rain, even heavy showers and scattered thunderstorms, from the night of June 9 through June 10.
Several parts of Hai Duong province recorded moderate to heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and southeasterly winds at level 2 to 3 on the afternoon of June 8. The rain was triggered by a compressed trough moving across northern Vietnam, combined with wind convergence at an altitude of 3,000 m.
The provincial Hydrometeorological Station forecast that this weather pattern is likely to persist through June 10.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to occur across the province, with some areas experiencing heavy downpours, especially in the afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms may bring whirlwinds, lightning, hail, and strong gusty winds.
Between June 9 and 10, rainfall across the province is predicted to range from 10 to 30 mm, with some areas exceeding 30 mm. Due to the rain, Hai Duong will experience relatively cool weather over the next two days, with the highest temperature ranging from 30 to 31°C.
Authorities have warned that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and hail may cause trees to fall, damage homes, transportation infrastructure, and other facilities. Rain and showers may also reduce visibility, affecting traffic and outdoor activities.
Sunshine is forecast to return to most areas of the province from June 11 to 18. The highest temperature could reach up to 35°C. During this period, localized showers and thunderstorms may still occur in the late afternoon or evening.
