Hai Duong province is forecast to continue experiencing rain, with scattered showers and thunderstorms, this week.
A stable continental high-pressure system above Hai Duong will weaken on May 26, making the weather in the province cloudy, windy, and sporadically rainy, forecast the provincial Hydrometeorological Station.
Daytime temperature may reach up to 31 degrees Celsius.
A trough is expected to form along the 25 -28°N latitude on May 27 and connect to a western depression that will gradually extend eastward.
Later, this system will be weakly compressed by a continental high-pressure system from the north, resulting in scattered showers and thunderstorms across the province, with daily temperature ranging from 23 to 31 degrees Celsius.
From May 28 to 30, under the influence of an intensified continental high-pressure system combined with upper-level wind convergence, Hai Duong will remain cloudy with continued showers and thunderstorms. Northeasterly winds will blow at levels 2 or 3.
From May 31 to June 4, the continental high-pressure system is predicted to weaken and shift eastward. During this period, isolated showers may occur, but sunny days are expected, with some days experiencing heatwaves and maximum temperatures reaching 36 degrees Celsius.
During periods of rainstorms, there is a possibility of whirlwinds, lightning, hail, and gusts of wind, which may cause tree falls and damage to houses, traffic works, and infrastructure, and pose risks to human safety.
