Hai Duong province is expected to endure several more days of hot weather before thunderstorms arrive later this week.
The Hydrometeorological Station of Hai Duong province forecasts that from April 21 to 24, a developing western low-pressure system will bring further sunshine and high temperatures to the region.
Daytime highs are expected to range from 33°C to just under 35°C, with April 22 likely to be the hottest day, exceeding 35°C.
From April 25 to 28, a compressed low-pressure trough combined with upper-level wind convergence is expected to bring increased cloud cover, scattered showers, and thunderstorms across the province. Authorities warn of potential whirlwinds and strong gusts during thunderstorms. Daytime temperatures are forecast to slightly drop, hovering around 30 – 31°C.
Health officials advise residents, especially the elderly and children, to take precautions during the heatwave.
Recommendations include limiting outdoor activities during peak heat hours, staying hydrated, wearing lightweight clothing, keeping living areas ventilated, and setting air conditioners to at least 25°C.
