AEON Group to export 30 tons of Thanh Ha lychee to Japan

A delegation of Japan’s AEON Group visited a lychee growing area in Thanh Son commune, Thanh Ha district, Hai Duong province on May 30.

The trip was organized with the connection of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and Red Dragon Co., Ltd.

Members of the delegation learnt about lychee cultivation under VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards for export during the trip.

Representative of AEON Group Tanihara Kouji highly appreciated the lychee cultivation process of Thanh Son farmers, adding that this specialty has been popular in Japan for many years.

AEON Group will purchase about 30 tons of lychees through Red Dragon Co., Ltd. for export to Japan this year and strive to increase the quantity by 20 – 30% in subsequent years, according to the representative.

The group suggested that Hai Duong expand growing areas, improve lychee quality, intensify lychee promotion and introduction activities in Japan, diversify lychee products… to increase the amount of lychees exported to the country.

This year, Red Dragon Co., Ltd. plans to export more than 60 tons of Thanh Ha lychee to Australia, the US, Canada, the UK, the United Arab Emirates, Japan…
