Hai Duong laborers mainly went to China’s Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea to work under contracts.
As many as 8,837 Hai Duong workers have gone to work abroad under contracts since early this year, 96% higher than the province’s 2024 target.
Among them, 4,740 workers went to China’s Taiwan, 3,328 to Japan, 275 to South Korea, and the rest to other markets.
Most of the laborers worked abroad in the fields of mechanics, garment, footwear, electronic assembly, construction, agriculture, aquaculture, domestic help services, etc.
This year, the provincial Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs coordinated with relevant bodies to send Vietnamese workers abroad under such programs as the Employment Permit System (EPS) for the South Korean market, recruitment of nursing interns to work in Japan, and recruitment of candidates to study and work in the general nursing sector in Germany.
The department also co-organized a consultation conference to send workers to Japan’s Kagoshima prefecture for those in need in Binh Giang district.
