The People’s Council of Hai Duong province will consider multiple issues related to the restructuring of the two-level local government system and policies concerning the mergence with Hai Phong city.
The Standing Board of the People’s Council of Hai Duong province held an inter-agency meeting on the afternoon of June 3 to prepare for special and mid-year sessions in 2025.
At the meeting, delegates discussed and agreed to a proposed agenda to be presented at three upcoming sessions of the provincial People’s Council.
The 31st session (a special one) is scheduled for June 10, followed by the 32nd session (also special) at the end of June, and the 33rd session (regular mid-year one) in early July.
Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Le Van Hieu emphasized several policies related to finance, as well as key matters that require consideration amid the restructuring of the local government from a three-level to a two-level system.
Chairman Le Van Hieu highlighted the importance of addressing social welfare policies and called for careful study and selection of optimal solutions when merging Hai Duong province and Hai Phong city.
Regarding this matter, the People’s Councils of the two localities will coordinate and organize seminars to conduct in-depth research, ensuring that post-mergence policies will be implemented in a synchronized, fair, and timely manner for all affected groups.
Earlier in the meeting, delegates focused their discussion on the jurisdiction to issue support policies for officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers relocating from Hai Duong province to Hai Phong city for work after mergence.
