Leaders of the People's Committees of Hai Duong province and Hai Phong city have reached agreement on several targets in draft political reports to be presented at the upcoming Party Congresses of both localities as well as some other issues.
Leaders of the People's Committees of Hai Duong province and Hai Phong city co-organized a meeting at the Xu Dong Cultural Center on May 27 afternoon to align on a number of issues related to the mergence of the two localities.
Delegates discussed draft political reports to be presented at the Party Congresses of Hai Duong province and Hai Phong city for the 2025 - 2030 tenure.
The draft report for Hai Duong included 18 targets for socio-economic development and three for national defense and security. These indicators were reviewed, revised, and supplemented to align with Hai Phong's context.
Additionally, Hai Duong proposed addition of 11 more socio-economic indicators, which were developed in line with the planning for the Red River Delta region.
Regarding detailed figures for the targets, the leaders of the two local governments requested relevant agencies to review them based on practical calculations to ensure alignment with actual socio-economic development.
They also called for adjustments to certain explanatory sections to enhance specificity and feasibility, and to clearly outline solutions for achieving the proposed targets.
The overarching objective is to meet requirements for drafting a political report for the Party Congress of the merged Hai Phong city for the 2025 - 2030 term.
At the meeting, the leaders and delegates also discussed transitional plans for managing investment projects, as well as medium- and annual-term public investment plans during the arrangement and consolidation of a two-tier local government system.
