Hai Duong's economic growth reached 10.2% in 2024, ranking 6th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide and 3rd out of 11 localities in the Red River Delta, announced the provincial Statistics Office at a press conference on January 2 afternoon.
The province's economic scale was estimated at 212,386 billion VND, still in the 11th place in Vietnam.
Hai Duong's GRDP per capita approximated to 4,456 USD, coming 8th in the Red River Delta.
In 2024, industry - construction and services made up 83% of the province’s GRDP, higher than the rate of 82.6% in 2023.
State budget revenue set a record high, and banking credit activities were stable, meeting the demand of organizations and individuals.
Local development investment in 2024 was estimated at 64,615 billion VND, an increase of 12.6% year on year, including 10,300 billion VND in State capital, 38,135 billion VND in non-State capital, and 16,180 billion VND in foreign direct investment (FDI), up 11%, 5.3%, and 35.8% respectively.
Hai Duong attracted 217 domestic investment projects with a total registered capital of 11,489 billion VND and licensed 70 new FDI projects with a total capital of 457.7 million USD in 2024, the second highest year after 2023 in the past 10 years.

The province’s index of industrial production in 2024 rose by 14.2% over 2023, with all important manufacturing industries recording high growth.
Trade and service activities continued to see positive changes. Total retail sales of goods and consumer services reached 101,934 billion VND, an increase of 14.2% year on year.
Revenue from transportation, warehousing, and transportation support was estimated at 16,193 billion VND, a rise of 14.9%.
