Hai Duong's economic growth in the first six months of 2024 ranks 7th in the country and 3rd in the Red River Delta.
Hai Duong's economic growth in the 1st half of 2024 is estimated at 10%, according to the provincial Statistics Office. This is a high and positive growth rate, portending that the province will fulfill or overfulfill the growth target for the whole year (more than 9%).
The growth helps Hai Duong rank 7th in the country and 3rd in the Red River Delta, only after Hai Phong city and Ha Nam province.
In particular, the agro-aquatic-forestry sector is estimated to increase by 3.52%, coming 26th in the country, including a rise of 6.1% in animal husbandry and 6.8% in aquaculture.
The industry and construction sector sees an estimated growth rate of 13.71%, remaining high from the end of 2023 and finishing 8th in the country.
Construction activities flourished in the 1st quarter with an increase of 9.2%, which, however, fell to 5.7% in the 2nd quarter due to a decline in residential construction and commencement of new public investment projects.
The service sector ranks 25th in the country in the first six months of the year with a rise of 6.9%.
The sector’s growth in the 2nd quarter of 2024 is higher than the 1st quarter of the year but lower than the 4th quarter of 2023 because of inflation, difficult financial and credit activities, and a sluggish real estate market.
