Hai Duong records 10.5% increase in Q1 export turnover

Hai Duong's exports in March were valued at 899 million USD, up 12.3% against the same period last year, according to the Department of Industry and Trade.

The province raked in an estimated 2.279 billion USD from export in the first three months of the year, an increase of 10.5% over the corresponding period last year.

Garments, textiles, footwear, electronic components, electric wires and cables, cement, iron, and steel were the main exported items. Most of them were exported to the US, the European Union (EU), Japan...

This is a positive signal since most months of 2023 saw decreases in export turnover.

The increase in the value of export turnover in the first quarter of 2024 was attributed to the recovery of the world market and rises in export orders.

Vietnam’s upgrading of its relationship with major trading partners such as the US, China, and Japan also contributed to the positive recovery of export.

Meanwhile, the province’s import value amounted to some 788 million USD last month and 1.882 billion USD in the first three months of the year, up 12.5% and 9.3% year on year, respectively.
