Hai Duong province is home to 66 industrial and handicraft villages and one agricultural craft village, according to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

There also are many traditional and long-standing professions imbrued with the province’s characteristics.

On one hand, craftsmen want their products to be widely known, and on the other hand, a lot of people want to retrace old values, resulting in the birth of craft village experiencing activities.

Chu Dau pottery in Nam Sach district has been revived after nearly 400 years of disappearance. Therefore, aside from focusing on production and business, Chu Dau Ceramics JSC. pays special attention to creating and spreading the values of this ancient pottery line by preparing all conditions for experience, learning, and in-depth research to meet visitors’ needs.

The company welcomes some 15,000 tourists each year. There, they are informed of this typical and long-standing pottery line of the province and can make ceramics themselves.

Those coming to Ninh Giang district to visit and worship at Tranh temple or enjoy Hong Phong water puppet shows will drop by Thanh Toi ramie cake production facility to learn firsthand about the locality’s specialty.

As the third-generation successor of the famous ramie cake brand in Ninh Giang, Nguyen Van Duong is always concerned about finding a direction to develop the traditional profession of his family and the locality.

“Visitors more or less affect production activities at our facility, but we manage to both ensure production and bring a new and interesting experience to everyone,” said Duong.

Hai Duong is effectively implementing the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program, focusing on turning traditional craft products into OCOP ones.

The province has oriented, preserved, and promoted traditional craft values, thereby developing rural tourism, concentrating on restoring and developing traditional crafts in association with cultural spaces and historical and revolutionary relics.
