Kim Thanh district will turn Phu Thai town into its central urban area

The authorities of Kim Thanh district in Hai Duong province have worked out a plan to adjust the local planning to 2030 with a vision to 2050.

The adjustment meets the requirements of land planning, changes the boundaries of post-merger communes and Kim Thanh industrial park, and creates a highlight in traffic and urban development, according to the district People’s Committee.

Kim Thanh plans to develop three urban areas by 2030, including the upgrading of Phu Thai town to a 4th-grade urban area and building of Dong Cam and Cong Hoa – Lai Vu communes following criteria of a 5th-grade urban area.

The district will accordingly have three new growth poles, consisting of one central urban area, Phu Thai town, and two satellite ones to the west and south of the locality.

The southern region of the district is oriented to develop along national highway 17B, prioritizing urban and service development associated with industrial development.

The district authorities also adjusted a number of traffic development orientations to suit reality and current standards.

Specifically, national highway 17B’s section passing through Dong Cam and Tam Ky communes and a route from the district east-west road to Trang Due industrial park in Hai Phong city will be rerouted.

Meanwhile, sections of provincial roads 389 and 390E that cross residential areas will be widened to 33 m, and the provincial north-south road and the district east-west road’s section from the north-south road to Tam Ky commune will be 67 m wide...

The district will reduce some urban development areas and rural residential areas in the communes of Lai Vu, Cong Hoa, Co Dung, Tuan Viet, Kim Anh, Kim Dinh, Kim Tan, Dong Cam, Lien Hoa, Tam Ky, and Dai Duc but increase the agricultural area by 665 ha.

“Kim Thanh is amending the general planning for its communes and making a plan for subdivisions of Kim Thanh 2 industrial park,” said Head of the district Economic and Infrastructure Division Nguyen Phuc Cong.

The district has step by step realized land use plans in line with targets and types of allocated land and made detailed plans for many residential and urban areas in the district, Cong added.
