Phase 2 of the East-West trunk-road construction project in Kim Thanh district spans approximately 12 km, with a total investment of 612 billion VND.
By May 25, Kim Thanh authorities had basically completed site clearance for phase 2 of a project to build the district East-West trunk-road and a branch road leading to national highway 5.
Specifically, compensations worth over 80 billion VND were paid to 565 households whose land and crops were affected by the project. These households are located in the communes of Kim Anh, Kim Tan, Ngu Phuc, Tam Ky, and Dong Cam.
The district also decided to provide financial support, amounting to 1.96 billion VND, for 17 households in Kim Anh, Ngu Phuc, and Kim Tan communes to facilitate land recovery and compensation in accordance with the 2024 Land Law.
The district Compensation and Site Clearance Council has finished inventorying residential land and approved specific residential land prices to calculate compensation for the remaining 17 households whose land in Kim Tan and Dong Cam communes will be acquired. A resettlement plan has also been developed for one household in Kim Tan commune.
Kim Thanh district aims to complete site clearance for the project before June 30.

The project construction began in late 2024 and is expected to be completed for operation by the end of 2025. Once finished, the new road will help alleviate congestion on high-traffic routes, attract investment, expand development space, and serve as a catalyst for socio-economic development.
