The People’s Council of Hai Duong province in December 2020 advocated the construction of an East-West trunk-road from 2021 to 2024 with a budget of nearly 1,500 billion VND.

The 36.5 km long road will pass through three districts of Ninh Giang, Tu Ky, and Thanh Mien.

In which, Tu Ky had to recover 24 ha of agricultural and non-agricultural land from 591 households in Phuong Ky, Cong Lac, and Ha Ky communes to build 6.76 km of the road in the locality.

To create consensus among local people, all information about the project, compensation and support plans were made public and transparent.

Obstacles of households subject to land recovery were reasonably resolved by district and provincial authorities.

About 70% of the East-West trunk-road’s section in Tu Ky district has been built

“Though the road’s section crossing Tu Ky is the last one to be built, our district still actively and proactively took steps to accelerate site clearance,” said Vice Chairman of the district People’s Committee Dao Van Soai.

By October 2, 2023, the district had finished handing over cleared grounds to the investor. Thanks to the early transfer, about 70% of the section has been built. Construction is expected to be completed next April.

The provincial Construction Project Investment Management Board highly appreciated Tu Ky district’s drastic participation in site clearance for the construction of the East-West trunk-road.

This is also the first locality to hand over cleared grounds for the project implementation.
