Hai Duong to grow 150 ha of GAP fruit trees

Hai Duong province will maintain 21,500 ha of fruit trees, including 150 ha of GAP ones.


Hai Duong will build a 2,500 ha guava growing region, targeting an output of 75,000 tons


Hai Duong province will maintain 21,500 ha of fruit trees with an output of about 290,000 tons in 2023, down about 90 ha compared to 2022.

Lychee will make up the largest area, reaching 8,850 ha, followed by 2,500 ha of guava and more than 1,000 ha of custard-apple.

Localities will apply Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) to 150 ha of fruit trees, including 100 ha under VietGAP and 50 ha under GlobalGAP, following the project “Developing hi-tech concentrated commodity agriculture and organic agriculture in the 2021 – 2025 period with orientation to 2030.”

To achieve the goal, the agricultural sector orients safe production according to export processes, VietGAP, GlobalGAP, etc.; issuance of QR codes for product traceability; application of scientific and technical solutions; crop restructuring; etc.

The province grew 21,591 ha of fruit trees in 2022, with selling prices of their products basically higher than the previous year.

Many products, such as lychee, longan, and pomelo, were exported to high-end markets like Japan, the US, the Republic of Korea, the Netherlands, the UK, France, Sweden, and Singapore.

Other products, including guava, banana, orange, and dragon fruit, also sold well in the domestic market.
