According to the General Department of Customs, Hai Duong ranked 7th out of 10 localities enjoying the largest trade surpluses (TS) in the country in 2022, with a TS of nearly 2.26 billion USD.

Thai Nguyen took the lead with a TS of 12.6 billion USD. Placed from 2nd to 6th are Binh Duong, Bac Ninh, Dong Nai, Hai Phong, and Tien Giang.
The three provinces coming after Hai Duong are Bac Giang, Binh Phuoc, and Long An.
Hai Duong’s import and export turnover neared 18.8 billion USD in 2022. In which, export value exceeded 10.5 billion USD, up 6.6% over 2021.
Vietnam recorded a total import and export turnover of 730.2 billion USD, an increase of 9.1% compared to 2021, and export value of 371.3 billion USD, up 10.5% against the previous year.
