Hai Duong province has been building and will build many more bridges for its dense river network to create synchronous and continuous traffic infrastructure.
Hai Duong has for years paid attention to developing extensive traffic infrastructure for inter-regional connections, including bridges to shorten the distance between localities in the province.
There are up to six bridges in the ongoing East-West trunk-road construction project, including four existing bridges to be upgraded and expanded and two new ones. In which, Bac Hung Hai bridge is being constructed to connect Ha Ky and Phuong Ky communes of Tu Ky district with a large investment of nearly 200 billion VND.
About 90% of the bridge has so far been built, and the rest is expected to be completed on October 30, 2024.
“The East-West trunk-road, together with Bac Hung Hai bridge, will shorten the time to travel to neighboring areas. Smooth trade will create a competitive advantage for local socio-economic development,” said Tan Van Duan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuong Ky commune.
Tan An bridge and a path from the bridge to national highway 18 in Chi Linh city are being built from 2023 to 2025 with an investment of about 600 billion VND.
The construction is aimed at gradually completing an inter-regional traffic axis to connect national highway 5 and national highway 18 from Hai Duong city through Han bridge to Nam Sach district and then Chi Linh city.
When the bridge is put into use, it will reduce the load on the current traffic system, especially on national highway 37, creating conditions for expanding urban space and promoting socio-economic development in Chi Linh city and Nam Sach district.
The building of a road and Van bridge to link national highway 37’s section in Chi Linh city with the path to Trieu bridge in Kinh Mon town is one of the largest bridge construction projects in the province at present. The entire route is 12.97 km long with a total investment of more than 1,296 billion VND.
The route will create a traffic axis connecting Kinh Mon and Chi Linh urban areas, and national highway 37 with provincial roads 389, 389B and planned ones.
From there, a traffic route between northeastern districts of Hai Duong province and neighboring localities, including Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh provinces and Hai Phong city, will be formed, creating inter-regional development space and attracting investment, contributing to promoting socio-economic development of the localities.
Hai Duong has so far had 12 Central bridges and 15 local ones, all of which basically ensure travel needs and are a fulcrum to promote local socio-economic development.
In the coming time, the province will focus on building many more bridges to create synchronous and continuous traffic infrastructure.
