Hai Duong considers building road to Hai Hung bridge and houses for workers

The Hai Duong provincial People’s Committee basically agreed to the Department of Planning and Investment’s proposal to build a road to Hai Hung bridge.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Trieu The Hung gave the conclusion at the committee’s 2nd regular March meeting on March 8.

The Department of Planning and Investment estimated that it would take 60 billion VND to build the road.

The money will be taken from the provincial budget for the 2021 – 2025 public investment plan.

The work will be synchronously connected with Hung Yen province’s building of Hai Hung bridge across the Chanh river to link the East-West trunk road in Hai Duong and Hung Yen provincial road 386.

The road in Hai Duong will have a length of about 180 m, a grade-III plain road scale, and a design speed of 80 km/h.

It will stretch from Hai Hung bridge to the intersection of provincial road 392C and the East-West trunk road in Doan Ket commune, Thanh Mien district.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Trieu The Hung assigned the Department of Planning and Investment to coordinate with the Department of Transport to urgently build up a file on the project and pay attention to survey, calculation, and balancing of capital sources for implementation.

Hung also required the Department of Construction to improve its draft project to develop houses for workers in the province in the 2022 – 2030 period based on suggestions of delegates at the meeting, affirming that housing construction for workers is a big goal.

The department shall supplement specific legal provisions to the project and update itself on survey data close to reality for effective project implementation.

“It is necessary to clarify the form of investment in worker housing projects in accordance with current regulations,” said Hung.

The Department of Construction planned to build 275,860 m2 of housing floor in Hai Duong by 2025, meeting the demand of about 27,600 workers (10 m2/ worker).

The department will strive to meet the need of around 35,000 workers by 2030 with the construction of 491,280 m2 of housing floor (14 m2/ worker).

The Department of Construction suggested pilot construction of houses, public utilities for workers, and accommodation for experts in a compensated and cleared plot covering about 4.52 ha in Tu Minh ward, Hai Duong city, and Cam Doai commune, Cam Giang district, and a cleared site covering 4.46 ha of a project to build a residential area, worker houses, and services in Tan Truong industrial park in 2023 to ensure the feasibility of the project and avoid wasting investment resources.
