Cong Hoa industrial park (IP) in Chi Linh city, Hai Duong province resumed normal operations on September 16 after floods had gone down.
Around 3,000 employees of four factories in Cong Hoa IP have went back to work, equivalent to 60% of the workforce in the IP.
The remaining five enterprises in the IP are both operating, overcoming flooding, and cleaning some production areas to soon restore normal work.
Earlier, due to the impact of Typhoon Yagi, the third to hit Vietnam this year, and prolonged rain afterwards, roads in Cong Hoa IP was flooded from September 12 – 14, a lot of trees were uprooted, etc., forcing the companies to temporarily suspend or reduce production.
As the water on the roads and in production areas receded on September 15, the limited liability companies of Sungold Vietnam, Vietnam Poyun Electronics, Nice Ceramic, Eastech Vietnam, etc. took the initiative to mobilize workers and equipment for clean-up.
On September 15 and 16, Vietnam Rubber Industrial Zone and Urban Development JSC., the investor of Cong Hoa IP, also assisted the companies in cleaning and disinfecting all operating and production areas and ensured stable electricity and clean water supply.
Phase 1 of Cong Hoa IP was built on an area of 201 ha with an investment of 1,081 billion VND. It is basically full with 11 secondary investment projects, nine of which have gone into production and two are under construction.
The investor has proposed investment in phase 2 to expand the IP to over 390 ha.
