Businesses engages in OCOP program

Hai Duong province is home to over 350 OCOP products, more than half of which belong to enterprises.

Most of them registered multiple products for OCOP certification at the same time since businesses have certain advantages in proving their products’ satisfaction of strict OCOP requirements and standards.

Vu Cong One Member Co., Ltd. in Nam Sach district specializes in processing local agricultural products such as onions, garlic, and carrots.

The company registered three products in 2022, all of which were then certified as four-star OCOP products at provincial level.

“It is not too difficult for enterprises to meet OCOP requirements because they are experienced in accomplishing procedures for environmental protection, food hygiene and safety, traceability, quality inspection…,” said director of the company Vu Dinh Bay.

Hoang Giang JSC. in Hai Duong city is a typical enterprise in developing OCOP products in the province with nine mung bean cake products meeting four-star OCOP standard and one proposed for five-star OCOP certification at Central level.

“Our company has reaped much success since trying out the OCOP playground thanks to methodical and synchronous measures, especially attention paid to human factors,” said Dao Quang Chuyen, Chairman of the company's Board of Directors.

The firm has made the most of this competitive advantage to expand markets by distributing products to convenience stores, supermarkets, and gift selling zones at relics, tourist attractions, and airports.

Aside from domestic consumption, the company has also exported this specialty of Hai Duong to Japan.

Since 2020, Hoang Giang JSC.’s output has steadily increased by 20% each year. In the time to come, the enterprise will study and register more products for OCOP certification.
