Thanh Hong pomelo first granted export growing area code

15 ha of rosy-pulped pomelos in Lap Le hamlet, Thanh Hong commune, have been granted a growing code for the first time

According to the Division of Agriculture and Rural Development of Thanh Ha district, 15 ha of GlobalGAP pomelos in Lap Le hamlet, Thanh Hong commune, have been granted a code for export to Russia, Canada, Singapore, etc.

This is the first year the growing area has been granted an export code.

Apart from the area of pomelos grown under GlobalGAP standard, Thanh Hong commune has 40 ha planted following VietGAP standard.

All VietGAP and GlobalGAP pomelo growing areas are provided with standard planting and caring techniques and supported with part of fertilizers, plant protection drugs, etc.

There are 130 ha of rosy-pulped pomelos in Thanh Hong commune. The peak harvest time of pomelos has begun with an estimated output of 2,100 tons, up 200 tons over the previous year.

Rosy-pulped pomelos are favorably sold for 12,000 - 13,000 VND/fruit, mainly in neighboring provinces and cities such as Ha Noi, Hai Phong, and Quang Ninh.
