Housing development for people, especially low-income and industrial park workers, is always a key task in the national socio-economic development, according to Chairman of the Hai Duong provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung.

He made the affirmation when agreeing to the issuance of a project for social housing development in the province at the 4th July meeting of the provincial People's Committee on July 31.

The chairman of the provincial People's Committee recommended the Department of Construction to absorb suggestions of participants in the meeting and complete the project’s content.

It is necessary to group objects and assess specific social housing needs of localities to propose the provincial authorities a suitable direction for social housing development to meet requirements and demands and promote the efficiency and quality of investment, Hung said.

He also required the project to satisfy the social housing target assigned to the province by the Prime Minister and clarify the current status, objectives, construction costs, and investment and execution phases.

“Attention should be paid to ensuring the quality of works and balancing the local budget,” Hung added.

Hai Duong will strive to build about 15,900 social houses in the province by 2030, according to the Department of Construction.
