Rainstorms forecast to occur in Hai Duong from tonight

Hai Duong province is being affected by the southwest edge of a weakening high pressure area and aloft wind convergence, according to the provincial Hydrometeorological Station.

The combination is forecast to cause rain, even local showers and scattered thunderstorms, in the province from September 28 evening to September 30 evening.

Rainstorms may be accompanied by whirlwinds, lightning, and gusts of wind that can break trees and damage houses, traffic works, and infrastructure, experts warn.

A wind convergence zone is forming above the Northern mountainous and midland areas, according to the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting.

A relatively strong cold wave is predicted to blanket the North around September 30 and October 1, resulting in scattered showers and thunderstorms.

Temperature in the North will drop to 21 - 22 degrees Celsius, even below 20 degrees Celsius in mountainous areas.
