Hai Duong records highest IIP rise in Dec

Hai Duong’s index of industrial production (IIP) in December rose by 12.6% over the same period last year, the highest in 2023, according to the provincial Statistics Office.

The province recorded year-on-year increases of up to 10.4% and 8.3% in the 4^th quarter and the whole year, respectively.

Processing and manufacturing, the province’s key industry, registered constant increases in IIP from August to the end of the year, with the figure in the latter month higher than the former and peaking at 11.9% in December.

In particular, motor vehicle production posted a rise of 20.6%, electricity production and distribution 16.4%, food processing 9.6%, electronic product manufacturing 4.6%, and metal production 4.4%.

Meanwhile, some other industries showed signs of recovery but at low levels, such as garment, footwear, and production of products from non-metallic minerals.
