Eight-month industrial production index up 7.5%

Hai Duong province's index of industrial production (IIP) in August increased by 2.1% month on month and 5.2% year on year, according to the provincial Statistics Office.

The IIP recorded a rise of 7.5% in the first eight months of 2023.

A number of industries with large proportions made great impacts on the overall IIP. Those were motor vehicle production with an increase of 22.3%; electricity production and distribution, 19.4%; and production of electronic products, 4.5%.

Meanwhile, some other industries continued to decline with no signs of recovery, including 5.5%, 1.8%, and 21.8% decreases in the production of non-metallic mineral products, metal, and coke, respectively.
