Hai Duong's 7-month industrial production index up 7.8%

Hai Duong's industrial production index decreased in July but increased in the first seven months of 2023 compared to the same period last year.

Motor vehicle manufacturing maintains a high growth rate, making a great contribution to the overall growth of the sector

Hai Duong province’s industrial production index in the first seven months of 2023 rose by 7.8% over the same period last year, according to the provincial Statistics Office.

Last July, however, saw a month-on-month decline of 1.3% in the index.

A number of industries with a large proportion to the overall index posted high increases, such as motor vehicle production (23%), electricity production and distribution (16.3%), and food processing (12%).

Some other industries recorded low or negative growth rates, including electrical equipment manufacturing and machinery and equipment production with decreases of 31.1% and 3.8%, respectively, which led to the decline in the province’s industrial production index.
