Hai Duong leader pays working trip to Vietnamese Consulate General in Australia

Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province Trieu The Hung is leading a delegation to Australia and New Zealand for a working trip from April 20 – 27.

Hung had a meeting with Consul General of Vietnam in Australia’s Sydney Nguyen Dang Thang on April 21 as part of Hai Duong’s investment and trade promotion program in the two countries this time.

The chairman of the provincial People's Committee expected that the Consulate General of Vietnam in Sydney would continue to pay attention to assisting Hai Duong in contact activities with Australian businesses, connecting investment foundations, and inviting enterprises to Hai Duong for investment, especially in the fields of high-tech and supporting industries.

“Hai Duong gives special priority to clean, environmentally friendly technology and also seeks investment in high-tech agriculture,” Hung said.

The provincial chairman hoped that Australian schools would come to Hai Duong or cooperate with the province on student exchange, logistics..., thereby creating high-quality human resources who can work in Australia or for Australian companies in Vietnam.

Consul General of Vietnam in Sydney Nguyen Dang Thang hailed Hai Duong’s achievements in socio-economic development, affirming that the consulate was ready to foster the relationship between Hai Duong province and Australian partners to contribute to the development of the province and general relations between the two countries.

Later, the Hai Duong delegation will work with the Vietnamese Business Association in Australia to call for bilateral trade and learn about regulations on importing agricultural goods into Australia.

The delegation will also survey agricultural development models at a number of famous farms and the current status of urban construction and planning in some cities in Australia.

They will have a meeting with the Auckland Business Chamber to learn experiences in developing high-tech agriculture and attracting investment as well as introducing lychee products to the New Zealand market.
