Longans in regions granted production unit codes qualify for export to the US, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Japan…
34 longan growing regions in Chi Linh city have been granted production unit codes and qualify for export
An additional seven longan growing regions in Chi Linh city, Hai Duong province have been granted production unit codes (PUC) in 2023.
The regions and one more packaging facility in the city qualify for export to Japan, a fastidious market that reopened at the end of 2022.
The province has so far had 34 PUCs for more than 152 ha of longan, mainly in the wards and communes of Hoang Tien and Hoang Hoa Tham, Chi Linh city.
Longans in these regions are cultivated under VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards, meeting conditions for export to the US, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Japan, and China.
Chi Linh city is home to 740 ha of longan with an estimated output of over 15,000 tons.
A number of enterprises are completing quality inspection procedures to export the first batches of longans this year.
