Farmers in the wards and communes of Hoang Hoa Tham, Ben Tam, Le Loi, Hoang Tan, etc. have basically finished harvesting the 2021 longan crop, according to the Economic Division of Chi Linh city.
About 20 tons of longan were bought by businesses for export to the EU, Australia, etc.
About 20 tons of longan were bought by businesses in and outside the province for VND12,000 – 17,000/ kg for export to the EU, Australia, etc.
The remaining longan was domestically sold for VND7,000 – 10,000/ kg in gardens.
Despite lower prices compared to the same period, farmers still made a profit of VND50 – 70 million/ ha of longan.
There are nearly 740 ha of longan in Chi Linh with a yield of about 4,000 tons, up 40 tons over the previous year. In which, more than 40 ha of longan are cultivated under international standards with an output of 250 tons.
