Typhoon Yinxing has weakened, with wind speeds reducing to level 9, gusting to level 11, and moving southwest at a speed of 10-15 kph early this morning (November 11), according to the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting.

At 1 am on Monday, the storm's center was positioned in the western sea area of the northern East Sea, about 130 km north of the Hoang Sa (Paracel) islands.

The strongest winds near the storm's center reached level 9 (75-88 kmph), gusting to level 11.

By 1 am on Tuesday (November 12), the storm's center is forecast to be located in the sea area between Quang Nam and Binh Dinh provinces.

The strongest winds near the storm’s center are expected to decrease to level 7, gusting to level 9, moving southwest at around 15 kph, weakening into a tropical depression.

The hazardous area includes the western sea area of the northern East Sea (including the Hoang Sa islands) and the offshore area from Thua Thien-Hue to Binh Dinh provinces, classified as disaster risk level 3.

Over the next two days, the storm is predicted to approach the area from Gia Lai to Binh Dinh provinces, gradually weakening into a low-pressure area.

On Monday, in the western sea area of the northern East Sea (including the Hoang Sa islands), winds are expected to reach level 7, with areas near the storm’s center experiencing winds at levels 8-9, gusting to level 11, with wave heights of 2-4m, and in areas near the storm’s centre, 4-6m; the sea will be very rough.

Vessels operating in the aforementioned hazardous areas are likely to encounter thunderstorms, squalls, strong winds, and large waves.

Meanwhile, early this morning, typhoon Toraji was moving into the eastern waters of the Philippines’ Luzon Island, packing winds of 150 kph near its center.

The typhoon is forecast to enter the East Sea by around 1 am on November 12 and be active in the eastern waters of the northern part of the East Sea. Afterward, Toraji is anticipated to lose its strength.

In the next 72 to 120 hours, typhoon Toraji is set to move west-northwest, then likely change direction to west-southwest at a speed of 5-10 kph, before further weakening.

The central and south central regions are forecast to experience rain in the coming days. Fortunately, there is very little chance of extreme rainfall that could cause flooding in rivers across the central region.

Localities and residents in coastal areas of the central region, especially from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai, should closely monitor the typhoons’ developments and prepare response plans to minimize risks, experts warn.
