Typhoon Krathon is currently active in the northeastern waters of the East Sea, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting reported.

Maximum wind speeds near the typhoon's center are at level 16 (184-201km/h), with gusts exceeding level 17. The storm is moving northwest at a speed of approximately 5km/h.

The storm is unlikely to directly affect Vietnam's coastal areas and mainland in the next 24 to 72 hours, according to current forecasts.

The typhoon is predicted to move north-northwest at about 5 km/h, with maximum wind speeds near the center expected to remain at level 16, with gusts surpassing level 17 by 7 AM on Wednesday.

By 7 AM of Thursday, Typhoon Krathon is forecast to shift northward at a speed of about 10 km/h and gradually decrease its intensity when approaching Taiwan, China.

Typhoon Krathon is predicted to continue weakening on early Friday as it follows the northeastern path at a speed of about 10 km/h.

Due to the typhoon's impact, strong winds at level 10-13, up to level 14-16 near its eye, will affect the northeastern waters of the Northern East Sea. Wave heights are expected to reach 7-9 m, with extremely rough seas.

Vessels in the affected areas are at risk of encountering thunderstorms, whirlwinds, gusts, and high waves.
