Thundershowers likely to last long in Hai Duong

Hai Duong province is likely to experience showers and thunderstorms for days, forecast the provincial Hydrometeorological Station.

The combination of a trough and high-altitude wind convergence is predicted to cause rainstorms in the province from August 12 – 17, with southeast winds at level 2 or 3.

High-altitude wind convergence is expected to gradually weaken from August 18 – 20, making it cloudy in Hai Duong, with showers and thunderstorms in some places.

There is a possibility of whirlwinds, lightning and gusts of wind during thundershowers.

Due to the prolonged showers and thunderstorms, the weather in the province will be relatively cool, with temperature ranging between 26 and 33 degrees Celsius.

However, showers and thunderstorms may affect outdoor activities and cause difficulties for vehicles in traffic.

Besides, heavy rain accompanied by gusts of wind may result in localized flooding in low-lying areas, flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas, tree collapse, and damage to buildings, houses, etc.
