The harvest season of rosy-pulped pomelos has begun, according to the Agricultural Service Cooperative of Thanh Hong commune, Thanh Ha district, Hai Duong province.
This year, thanks to farmers' application of new technical advances to production plus favorable weather, pomelos can be harvested about 15 days earlier but longer than previous seasons.
The harvest of pomelos began in the middle of the 7th lunar month and will last until the 11th lunar month.
Due to the epidemic's impact, the price of pomelos fell by VND2,000 – 3,000/ kg compared to the same period last year to VND10,000 – 13,000/ kg.
Thanh Hong commune authorities have planned three concentrated pomelo cultivation regions covering an area of 80 ha. 40 ha of which are cultivated under VietGAP standard.
