Sweet and fragrant Thanh Ha lychee honey

At this time every year, thousands of bee colonies from far away return to Thanh Ha district, the land of lychee, to make honey.

Le Thi Quyen, owner of Diep Quyen honey facility, has raised bees for honey for more than 30 years. In 2022, her facility’s golden drop Thanh Ha lychee honey was certified as a 3-star OCOP product.

To obtain this result, Quyen’s family always puts product quality first. The facility’s products are pure honey free from impurities and certified to meet food safety conditions.

Quyen will focus on researching and designing packaging for each product before registering 4-star OCOP certification for her facility’s honey in 2025.

Le Quy Quyet, Director of Phuong Bac Trading and Services Co., Ltd. in Thanh Ha district, exported honey very early. He quickly realized the importance of having OCOP products.

“My company’s honey products have been certified as 3-star OCOP ones. This is a ‘passport’ that helps we sell honey abroad more conveniently,” said Quyet.

The enterprise exports about 1,000 tons of honey to the US each year, bringing some 60 billion VND in revenue, thanks to its quality and brand.

Honey is processed after harvest to keep its beautiful color and value for long-term export to the US. Honey samples are sent to a German company for testing before export.

Thanh Ha lychee honey is now available in many supermarkets and OCOP product stores nationwide. In the process of turning honey into an OCOP product, entities constantly improved quality and found a place for their brand.
