Promoting cooperation between Hai Duong and Cuban localities

Cuban Ambassador Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén led the delegation. His entourage included his spouse, the deputy ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam, and the rector of the University of Technology and Management.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Hung, Member of the provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, and representatives of leaders of some departments and sectors received the delegation.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung expressed his delight at the good and increasingly strong development of the traditional friendly relationship between Vietnam and Cuba over the past time.

Informing the delegation about the provincial socio-economic situation, the vice chairman of the provincial People's Committee said Hai Duong had many strengths in developing industry, agriculture, culture, and tourism.

He hoped that the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam would connect Hai Duong with Cuban ministries, sectors, localities, and investors to study and sign specific cooperation programs in the coming time and promote trade between localities of Cuba and Hai Duong.

Hai Duong wishes to cooperate with Cuba in the fields of health, culture, tourism, import and export, etc. This is a good opportunity to further stabilize Vietnam – Cuba ties, bringing benefits to both countries and the locality.

Sincerely thanking the provincial People's Committee leaders for their enthusiastic and warm welcome, Ambassador Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén absorbed specific issues on the fields informed by the vice chairman of the provincial People's Committee.

The ambassador said trading between Vietnam and Cuba had been significantly affected by the Covid-19 epidemic and Russia - Ukraine conflict.

Cuba has an open economy and is very interested in fostering cooperation and development in tourism, trade, health, education, etc.

The ambassador said in the coming time, he would intensify coordination and recommendation of ministries, sectors, localities, and investors in Cuba to learn and promote cooperation with Hai Duong in many fields.

On the afternoon of the same day, the delegation visited a number of relics and businesses in Hai Duong.
