Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh pays New Year visit to Hai Duong

The Government leader made a field trip to an interchange of provincial road 392 and Ha Noi – Hai Phong expressway in Binh Giang district and heard the province’s proposal to plan a specialized economic zone in Binh Giang and Thanh Mien districts.

The zone will help to fully exploit interchanges of Ha Noi – Hai Phong expressway in Hai Duong, thereby serving socio-economic development in the North as well as the province.

PM Pham Minh Chinh noted that the planning needs to facilitate site clearance, synchronize traffic infrastructure systems, and create new development space for the province and the region.

PM Chinh also visited a mechanically sown rice field in Hung Long commune, Ninh Giang district.

The PM recommended local authorities to assist farmers in applying scientific and technological advances to rice production and building brands for rice in particular and agricultural products in general.

PM Pham Minh Chinh later offered incense to President Ho Chi Minh at his monument in the district’s Hiep Luc commune.

On the afternoon of the same day, the Government leader visited a concentrated carrot production area and Duc Chinh Agricultural Services Cooperative in Duc Chinh commune, Cam Giang district.

The cooperative is operating a carrot processing workshop with a capacity of 50 tons/day. It can handle about 9,500 tons of carrots and earn some 33 billion VND each crop.

The cooperative’s products are mainly exported to South Korea, the Middle East, Japan, Malaysia, etc. with around 6,100 tons of exports/year.

Hai Duong is known for its strength in winter crops, with the production value of 223.5 million VND/ha, more than 2.2 times higher than that of northern provinces. The province aims to achieve a 2.5% growth rate in the agricultural sector in 2024.

This is the second time that PM Pham Minh Chinh has paid a working visit to Hai Duong province in 2024, after one in January.
