Huu Binh-branded moon cakes have been familiar gifts to many consumers in Hai Duong province for the past nearly 50 years.
Hai Duong-based Huu Binh Co., Ltd.’s moon cakes have been popular since their first release around 1976 – 1977.
The company is expected to produce about 70,000 cakes this year, equivalent to last years’ figure, according to director Phan Huu Thanh.
Cakes with mixed flavors remain dominant by accounting for approximately 80% of the production. They are considered the strength that built the brand name of Huu Binh.
“Each cake’s ingredients are carefully selected from production areas in the province, such as sesame and peanuts in Chi Linh city, zucchini in Thanh Mien district, and lemon leaves in Thanh Ha district,” said Thanh.
Thanks to know-hows in ingredient mixing, modern technology, strict control, and bakers’ enthusiasm, Huu Binh’s products still retain traditional flavors like ham, roasted chicken, lotus seed, and salted egg.
In recent years, the company has launched several kinds of cakes with modern stuffing, including mung beans, chocolate, cheese, and fruits, and those for children.
Modern cakes have diverse and more arresting shapes, and their crust is colored with natural materials like tea leaves, brown rice, and pumpkin.
Huu Binh's moon cakes for children are shaped like bunnies, penguins, and especially carp and the moon, which are very attractive to small kids.
The company also offers multiform and eye-catching packaging, suitable for gifts, and uses paper bags to protect the environment.
Its products are available at the head office on Tran Hung Dao street, Hai Duong city, and the online platforms of Shopee and Tiktok shop.
“I really like Huu Binh's moon cakes with distinct mixed flavors which mass-produced ones cannot have. I have bought some to enjoy this Mid-Autumn Festival,” said Le Xuan Cuong in Thanh Ha district.
