Hai Duong provincial banking sector has carried out a lot of specific support policies from businesses’ proposals at a dialogue with the provincial leaders at the end of 2022.
The banking sector in Hai Duong province has recently taken simultaneous measures to remove difficulties of customers affected by Typhoon Yagi, the 3rd to hit Vietnam this year.
Credit institutions reset time-limits for debt repayment and kept the debt groups of 474 customers unchanged with a total outstanding debts of 49.9 billion VND.
They also exempted or reduced lending interests for 1,525 customers with outstanding debts of 6,403 billion VND and granted new loans worth 1,187 billion VND to 640 customers.
By the end of October, 15 banks and 13 people's credit funds in the province had reset debt repayment periods and maintained the debt groups for 206 customers with 1,892 billion VND in debts (principal and interest) conformable to Circular 02 of the State Bank of Vietnam on supporting customers in difficulties.
Hai Duong province also realized the Government’s Resolution 33/NQ-CP dated March 11, 2023 on removing obstacles and promoting the real estate market, specifically a credit program worth 120,000 billion VND for investors and buyers of social and worker housing projects, and projects to renovate or rebuild old apartments with preferential interest rates.
In addition, by the end of 2023, the provincial banking sector had assisted 52 customers in interest rates for 2,656 billion VND in loans and 536 billion VND in outstanding debts under the 2% interest rate support program, which ended on December 31, 2023.
