There is great potential and ample room for cooperation between Hai Duong and US enterprises.
A conference has been held in Houston, Texas, to call for investment from the US to Hai Duong province, according to an article published by The Gioi Va Viet Nam (The World and Vietnam) Report on September 16.
The event, co-organized by the provincial authorities and the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Houston on September 15, attracted more than 120 delegates, including Texas leaders and congressmen, Houston leaders, and US investors and businesses in various fields.
Hai Duong is considered one of 20 localities with the best industrial infrastructure in Vietnam, said Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Duc Thang at the conference.
This is an outstanding advantage for the province to be one of attractive destinations for foreign investors, according to the official.
“Hai Duong ranks 11th nationwide in foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction with 514 FDI projects and a total registered capital of 9.38 billion USD from 26 countries and territories,” said Thang.
There is great potential and ample room for cooperation thanks to Hai Duong’s development of hi-tech specialized, service, and ecological industrial parks to form key industrial areas to attract big investment projects with modern and environmentally friendly technology, Consul General of Vietnam in Houston Nguyen Trac Ba affirmed.
“The Consulate General is willing to act as a bridge between Hai Duong and US investors, organizations, and companies wishing to learn about the market as well as the feasibility of investment in potential fields in the province,” said Ba.
US businesses and investors at the conference discussed cooperation and investment opportunities in the fields Hai Duong is seeking FDI with the provincial leaders and companies.
They paid special attention to measures to reform and shorten administrative procedures to facilitate FDI companies in the locality.
Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Duc Thang and the delegates witnessed the signing of eight memoranda of cooperation on trade, import, export, and services, including the construction of a hi-tech factory in Hai Duong, at the end of the conference.
On the same day, the Hai Duong delegation visited An Phat International Inc. and Thang Hung Commercial Complex. in the US.
