Hai Duong leader meets Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Hai Duong province Le Van Hieu had a meeting with Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Huy Tang on March 11.

Hieu informed the ambassador of outstanding results in Hai Duong's socio-economic development, especially in attraction of foreign direct investment (FDI), export, new-style rural building, and infrastructure development,

The official expressed his desire that Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang would act as a bridge for Hai Duong to cooperate with partners and businesses in Cambodia.

Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang promised to pay attention to coordination for fulfillment of Hai Duong’s proposals, adding that this is a good time for enterprises to invest in Cambodia.

Economic and trade relations between Vietnam and Cambodia are focusing on rubber, telecommunications, agricultural products, etc., with two-way trade value reaching 8.57 billion USD in 2023.

Vietnam is the biggest investor in Cambodia among Southeast Asian countries, with about 3 billion USD and high efficiency.

On this occasion, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Le Van Hieu transferred 100 million VND from Hai Duong to repair degraded schools for children of Vietnamese descent in Cambodia and presented souvenirs to the ambassador and staff members of the embassy.

This meeting was part of Hai Duong delegation’s visits to Laos and Cambodia from March 6 – 12, contributing to consolidating the friendly and traditional relations and multi-faceted cooperation between Hai Duong and Laos’ Vientiane province.

The trips also had a part in realizing the Vietnamese Party and State's policies and guidelines on developing the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, and fostering the fine neighborliness, traditional friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia.
