Hai Duong province is forecast to experience unsettled weather, with overcast skies, scattered showers, and occasional thunderstorms from now to the weekend.
A compressed trough passing through northern Vietnam, combined with upper-level wind convergence, will lead to predominantly cloudy conditions in Hai Duong province from now to May 18, forecast the provincial Hydrometeorological Station.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely to occur, especially during the late afternoon and nighttime, with temperature ranging from 23 - 31°C.
Rainfall probability during this period is expected to exceed 70%, particularly in the districts of Cam Giang, Gia Loc, Ninh Giang, Kim Thanh, and Nam Sach, the cities of Hai Duong and Chi Linh, and Kinh Mon town.
The trough is predicted to weaken between May 19 and 24, along with the diminishing upper-level wind convergence, bringing sunnier days, with daytime highs reaching 34°C.
Nonetheless, some late afternoon and nighttime showers and thunderstorms may still occur on certain days.
During periods of rainstorms, hazardous weather events such as lightning, hail, strong gusts, and whirlwinds may occur, posing risks to trees, buildings, transport infrastructure, etc.
