Hai Duong will continue to suffer extremely hot weather on May 22 caused by the further development and expansion of a hot depression from the west, forecast the provincial Hydrometeorological Station.
Temperature will peak at 35 – 37 degrees Celsius, with south to southwest winds at level 2 or 3 and humidity around 50 – 60%.
The hottest hours will last from 12 am to 4 pm.
Heat-caused natural disaster risks are warned at level one.
A trough is predicted to be compressed by a strengthened continental ridge on May 23 and 24, resulting in lots of clouds, rain, showers, and thunderstorms in the province.
There is a possibility of whirlwinds, lightning, and gusts of wind during thundershowers, east to southeast winds at level 2 or 3, and temperature from 26 – 32 degrees Celsius, ending the prolonged heat wave.
The western depression tends to develop and expand slowly southeastwards from May 25 - 28, leading to variable clouds, sunshine, southeast to south winds at level 2 or 3, and temperature from 27 – 34 degrees Celsius.
