High recruitment demand

Production and business activities of Prettl Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Dai An IP, Hai Duong province has recovered and thrived since the Covid-19 epidemic was put under control.

The enterprise has constantly recruited workers since 2022 to meet the need of expanding the production scale of electronic components and auxiliaries for motor vehicles.

The firm is providing stable jobs for about 1,600 laborers with per capita income of 9 – 12 million VND/ month.

“We have got new partners with a lot of large orders after the pandemic, which led to high recruitment demand. Thanks to proactive connection with labor supply units in the province, our workforce is always secured,” said a representative of the company.

As a result, the company’s production and business have developed well, contributing to improving workers’ income and welfare. It is recruiting an additional 100 female workers for production lines, according to the representative.

There are many jobs at a lot of enterprises in the provincial IPs after a period of difficulties because of reduced orders, leading to a surge in recruitment needs compared to the beginning of 2023, according to Nguyen Tuyen Huan, Director of Vietnam Manpower Supply and Training JSC. in Cam Giang district.

Since early August, IP-based businesses’ recruitment demand has increased by about 15% month on month.

Huan’s company is recruiting 2,000 – 3,000 laborers for more than 10 enterprises in IPs.

It has proactively participated in job transactions, coordinated with high schools, colleges, and universities to seek stable labor sources, and successfully provided about 3,000 workers for IP-based enterprises since the beginning of the year.

The Center for Job Introduction and Vocational Education has advised over 10,000 people on employment since early this year, around 4,000 of them were offered jobs.

Enterprises with high recruitment needs are mainly located in IPs, typically the limited liability companies of Sumidenso Vietnam, Vietnam Poyun Electronics, and Vietnam Toyo Denso, according to the center.

The provincial IPs Authority is trying to halve the processing time of administrative procedures related to granting and extending work permits for foreigners.

Most of these procedures are carried out online, bringing many benefits to businesses and making a good impression on new investors.

Wang Yong Qiang, Director of the Construction Engineering Department of Sungold Co., Ltd. in Cong Hoa IP, said the company’s production line is wholly imported, so some parts must be operated by foreign experts.

It often has to apply for new or extended work permits, which is actively supported by the provincial IPs Authority and IP investors.

“Most administrative procedures related to licensing foreign workers are done 2 – 3 days earlier than listed, saving our company’s time and effort. We hope the province will continue to promote administrative procedure reform and create an opener and more favorable investment environment,” said Wang.

The provincial IPs Authority approved 564 positions, corresponding to 616 foreign workers, from the beginning of the year to August 18.

The authority issued 306 work permits, re-issued 40, and extended 250 others for foreign experts during the period.

All administrative procedures related to labor management were resolved ahead of or on time.
