According to data summarized by Hai Duong branch of the State Bank of Vietnam, in the first half of 2022, the total loan balance of the banking sector is estimated at 121,525 billion VND, up 14% over the end of 2021 and 26.1% year on year.
This is the year with the highest growth rate as from 2019. Specifically, six-month growth rates in 2021, 2020, and 2019 were only 6.7%, 0.4%, and 3.4%, respectively, compared to the end of the preceding years and 17.6%, 8.1%, and 9.3%, respectively, compared to the same period of the previous years.
Outstanding short-term, medium-long-term, and foreign currency loans increased by 15.8%, 9.7%, and 6.2%, respectively, compared to the end of 2021 and 31.8%, 13.4%, and 4.3%, respectively, year on year.
The above credit growth rates demonstrate a cleared credit flow from the provincial banking sector as well as enterprises' very positive post-pandemic recovery ability.
