Effectiveness of 2,000 billion VND investment package
In 1995, Ford Motor was one of the first US enterprises to invest in Vietnam shortly after Vietnam and the US officially normalized relations. That year, Ford Vietnam joint venture laid the first bricks to build an assembly factory at the entrance of Hai Duong city. At the beginning of the 4th quarter of 1997, Ford's production lines in Hai Duong started operating.
At first, Ford Hai Duong had a design capacity of 14,000 cars/ year with full ISO quality standards. Along with the thriving of the market, Ford Hai Duong’s position on the world map was increasingly consolidated.
To affirm this role, in 2020, Ford Vietnam received an investment package worth more than 2,000 billion VND to upgrade Ford Hai Duong Factory and increase the capacity to 40,000 cars/ year with two working shifts/ day.
Ruchik Shah, Director-general of Ford Vietnam, said: “Upgraded lines allow Ford Hai Duong Factory to assemble modern and typical lines such as next-generation Ranger and Territory and, at the same time, get ready for future ones.”
“Ford is proud to have delivered nearly 300,000 cars of various lines to Vietnamese customers. In particular, to date, the proportion of domestically-assembled cars has gained the upper hand with more than 70% of Ford’s sales in Vietnam, creating many direct and indirect jobs as well as contributing to the local budget.”

In addition, the assembly workshop was completed, the logistic and material area was adjusted and rearranged to improve the efficiency of production and the quality of products assembled at the factory.
Ford Hai Duong is also one of the first car manufacturers in Vietnam to achieve the quality certificates of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, QS 9000, ISO/TS16949-2002, etc.
Moreover, Ford Hai Duong is one of Ford Motor’s key factories in the Asia-Pacific region and always adheres to global manufacturing processes with the highest production quality.
Strong personnel

Not only innovating and improving technologies and techniques, Ford Hai Duong has also invested in developing human resources. From 40 technicians in the early days, the factory is now employing more than 1,200 laborers.

According to Director-general of Ford Vietnam Ruchik Shah, with vision from the parent company’s Ford+ plan, Ford Vietnam will not only be a car seller but also accompany customers during their car using process.
“Along with that is the development of new technologies to enrich customers’ ownership experience and sustainable benefits in the future,” said Ruchik Shah.
“Ford+ marks a new journey in Ford's relationship with customers.
“Ford Hai Duong Factory will play an extremely important role since it produces quality products for Ford to begin the journey with customers.”
