Fuel that meets Euro 5 emission standards is not widely available in Hai Duong province in particular and Vietnam in general, affecting Ford Vietnam Co., Ltd.

There are only a few stores selling Ron 95-V petrol in Hai Duong, limiting users' access

The People’s Committee of Hai Duong province has asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade to request the Prime Minister to direct ministries, sectors, provincial and city People’s Committees, and relevant bodies to ensure the production, import, and supply of quality fuel used for motor vehicles in accordance with national technical regulations and the roadmap specified in the Prime Minister's Decision No. 49/2011/QD-TTg dated September 1, 2011.

The committee also suggested that Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex), petrol wholesalers and distributors ensure sufficient and accessible supply of 95-V petrol and 0.001S-V diesel oil for consumers across the country.

This movement aims to remove difficulties for Ford Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Hai Duong province, create a favorable environment for the use of vehicles meeting Euro 5 emission standards, and guarantee consistency in observance of regulations.

Decision No. 49/2011/QD-TTg provides a roadmap to apply emission standards to newly manufactured, assembled, or imported cars and two-wheeled motorcycles.

Point b, Clause 1, Article 4 of the decision specifies that newly manufactured, assembled, or imported cars must meet Euro 5 emission standards from January 1, 2022.

Ford Vietnam Co., Ltd. has converted all products to meet Euro 5 emission standards since January 1, 2022.

Fuel that meets the standards is, however, not widely available in Hai Duong province in particular and Vietnam in general.

Petrolimex is the sole company importing and trading in fuel meeting the standards in the country.

Meanwhile, only eight stores of Hai Duong Petroleum Branch sell 95-V petrol and 0.001S-V diesel oil in the province.

This makes it difficult for consumers to access, buy and use fuel, affecting the quality of vehicles circulating in compliance with Euro 5 emission standards.

According to product specifications and instructions, improper use of fuel can negatively influence the engine and business reputation…
