Nearly 3 million USD farm produce processing, preserving workshops inaugurated

This is an activity within the framework of the project “Assistance in facilities preliminarily processing and preserving agricultural products in Vietnam”.

The Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences has jointly inaugurated workshops in Duc Chinh commune, Cam Giang district, and Pham Tran commune, Gia Loc district, for preliminary processing and preservation of agricultural products.

This is an activity within the framework of the project “Assistance in facilities preliminarily processing and preserving agricultural products in Vietnam” funded by the South Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs for the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development through the Korea Rural Community Corporation.

The Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences was assigned to undertake the project by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Accordingly, a 966 m2 workshop was built and equipped with automatic washing lines, sorters with a capacity of 25 tons/day, and a 48 m2 low-temperature preservation warehouse in Duc Chinh commune.

In Pham Tran commune, a 192 m2 workshop was repaired and equipped with automatic washing lines, sorters with a capacity of 25 tons/day, and a 16 m2 low-temperature preservation warehouse.

The project was done with a total budget of 2,801,714 USD. Two agricultural service cooperatives of Duc Chinh in Cam Giang district and Tan Minh Duc in Pham Tran commune, Gia Loc district were assigned to manage and operate these works.

In addition, under the project, there will be training courses and exchanges of experience in product preservation and processing for researchers, managers, and technicians in South Korea and Vietnam, scientific seminars and 15 training courses for technicians and farmers in Vietnam.
